Sorry it is not closed. Got the same problem after using update-grub. Problem is hard to fixed and totally erratic....
Computer just keep rebooting not showing the first grub menu for os selection. After many crash I changed the default destination for the output file as generated by update-grub (grub-mkconfig in fact) and I can always go back if necessary to the old one. I copy the new grub.cfg when I want. I did use the same "fix" as explained. Changing from new grub.cfg to old one correct the problem. Using a diff -y oldone newone shows only new kernel added or removed and nothing that look special. The bug makes the system unusable... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/694040 Title: update-grub fails due to syntax error -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
