I get this too on boot, although it's pretty much off and on --
sometimes the mouse will just stay connected and be properly recognized,
I haven't really been able to match it to a particular cause.

Pete, can you please provide us with the output of 'lsusb' so we can
match this to a particular device, too?

I think there is more than one problem here: there's unreliability, and
how the device "flickers" and doesn't keep a stable connection, and one
for mice not being detected at boot-up. They should have a separate bug
opened, and should be treated separately.
