Downloaded new updates today through Update Manager, libc/iphone-set- info error was gone already. I think it was fixed by the new updates. But ipheth is still unable to connect to iPhone. Looks like it timed out because dhcp failed or unable to communicate with the device. I tried to alter the IPv4 addressing from auto to manual and entered the ip and gateway as well as the dns manually and it showed as connected but unable to communicate with gateway and internet. No ping responses.
Here's the result of my dmesg output: [ 370.712128] usb 1-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 5 [ 371.213089] ipheth 1-2:4.2: Apple iPhone USB Ethernet device attached [ 371.214103] usbcore: registered new interface driver ipheth [ 372.396290] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): eth1: link is not ready [ 394.988965] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): eth1: link becomes ready [ 400.000043] ------------[ cut here ]------------ [ 400.000066] WARNING: at /build/buildd/linux-2.6.38/net/sched/sch_generic.c:256 dev_watchdog+0x213/0x220() [ 400.000073] Hardware name: Compaq Presario C700 Notebook PC [ 400.000079] NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth1 (ipheth): transmit queue 0 timed out [ 400.000085] Modules linked in: ipheth cryptd aes_i586 aes_generic binfmt_misc parport_pc ppdev snd_hda_codec_conexant snd_hda_intel snd_hda_codec arc4 snd_hwdep snd_pcm snd_seq_midi ath5k ath mac80211 i915 snd_rawmidi snd_seq_midi_event joydev hid_a4tech snd_seq hp_wmi usbhid cfg80211 snd_timer snd_seq_device uvcvideo drm_kms_helper psmouse serio_raw videodev snd soundcore snd_page_alloc sparse_keymap drm lp parport i2c_algo_bit hid video usb_storage uas 8139too ahci 8139cp libahci [ 400.000199] Pid: 0, comm: kworker/0:0 Not tainted 2.6.38-8-generic #42-Ubuntu [ 400.000205] Call Trace: [ 400.000219] [<c104f912>] ? warn_slowpath_common+0x72/0xa0 [ 400.000229] [<c144a073>] ? dev_watchdog+0x213/0x220 [ 400.000238] [<c144a073>] ? dev_watchdog+0x213/0x220 [ 400.000248] [<c104f9e3>] ? warn_slowpath_fmt+0x33/0x40 [ 400.000258] [<c144a073>] ? dev_watchdog+0x213/0x220 [ 400.000268] [<c1069231>] ? __queue_work+0xe1/0x360 [ 400.000280] [<c105c76b>] ? call_timer_fn+0x2b/0xe0 [ 400.000290] [<c1127fc9>] ? file_free_rcu+0x29/0x30 [ 400.000298] [<c1127fc9>] ? file_free_rcu+0x29/0x30 [ 400.000307] [<c1449e60>] ? dev_watchdog+0x0/0x220 [ 400.000315] [<c105daa9>] ? run_timer_softirq+0xe9/0x1e0 [ 400.000325] [<c1449e60>] ? dev_watchdog+0x0/0x220 [ 400.000334] [<c1056622>] ? __do_softirq+0x82/0x170 [ 400.000343] [<c10565a0>] ? __do_softirq+0x0/0x170 [ 400.000348] <IRQ> [<c10567ed>] ? irq_exit+0x6d/0x80 [ 400.000366] [<c15107ab>] ? do_IRQ+0x4b/0xc0 [ 400.000376] [<c1003670>] ? common_interrupt+0x30/0x38 [ 400.000385] [<c10700d8>] ? do_cpu_nanosleep+0x38/0x1b0 [ 400.000397] [<c12e8db4>] ? arch_local_irq_enable+0x5/0xb [ 400.000406] [<c12e9a9b>] ? acpi_idle_enter_bm+0x227/0x25e [ 400.000417] [<c14061fd>] ? cpuidle_idle_call+0x7d/0x160 [ 400.000426] [<c10019ca>] ? cpu_idle+0x8a/0xc0 [ 400.000435] [<c1504a4d>] ? setup_APIC_timer+0x69/0x6d [ 400.000444] [<c1504591>] ? start_secondary+0xd5/0xdc [ 400.000451] ---[ end trace e3b12757f18bb53d ]--- [ 400.000456] ipheth: ipheth_tx_timeout: TX timeout [ 405.984038] eth1: no IPv6 routers present [ 410.000069] ipheth: ipheth_tx_timeout: TX timeout [ 420.004068] ipheth: ipheth_tx_timeout: TX timeout [ 430.000033] ipheth: ipheth_tx_timeout: TX timeout [ 440.000042] ipheth: ipheth_tx_timeout: TX timeout [ 450.000092] ipheth: ipheth_tx_timeout: TX timeout [ 460.000086] ipheth: ipheth_tx_timeout: TX timeout [ 470.000083] ipheth: ipheth_tx_timeout: TX timeout [ 480.000091] ipheth: ipheth_tx_timeout: TX timeout [ 490.000047] ipheth: ipheth_tx_timeout: TX timeout [ 500.000087] ipheth: ipheth_tx_timeout: TX timeout -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/763327 Title: WARNING: at /build/buildd/linux-2.6.38/net/sched/sch_generic.c:256 dev_watchdog+0x213/0x220() -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
