@John Lea: The change you made in the summary and description totally
ignores what I think is the primary point made in the report, ie that
just clicking on the application icon/button should minimize the app if
one of its windows currently has the focus, the lack of which is a major
flaw in the design IMO.

This bug now looks like it is only about adding a menu option  to
minimize the application's windows. But this was first mentioned as a
related point in comment #4.

Did you intend to do this? Can you track the request for the menu option
in a separate bug?
