You have been subscribed to a public bug:
On kubuntu, when you maximize a window, it's icon on it's titlebar gets bigger.
Then, when the window is restored, it's titlebar icon gets back to the
previous, smaller, size.
Once the bigger size fits the bar ok, it should then be the only size.
