Nah, it fortunately doesn't affect functionality.
This said, this issue should have been fixed in an upload of ubuntu-mono
yesterday, so please make sure your system is fully up to date (this may
depend on how fast your mirror is being kept up to date as well). This
was bug 767186; which I'm marking this bug a duplicate of. If you find
you're still seeing this despite having the latest version of the
ubuntu-mono package, please don't hesitate to reopen the report.

* Drop extra nm-vpn-connecting* animation icons from status/ directories,
they don't belong in there anyway.
* Reinstate vpn padlock composited in VPN connecting animation. (LP: #746674)
