A couple of things- Jockey is now showing the driver "Experimental 3D
Support for NVIDIA Cards" as active, but no change, still puts me in
Gnome. This is a different bug than #768178, but there are some
similarities, being the GeForce graphics card. After investigating why
the initial official NVIDIA driver reverted me back to Gnome, I
researched it, and it is a problem with my card model. However,
previously I was able to work with the open-source driver.
