Thanks for all of your quick replies and answers to this possible bug.I think that it's fixed.(All packages respond properly,and Apt-Daemon installs them with no problems now.) At a Ubuntu-workshop,we went into Grub,then to edit,by entering 'e'.Did a recovery/reinstall.All problems seem to have been repaired within system.(Problem was likely caused by my own inexperience-saw a Terminal-script for disabling Root-User.Seemed simple enough: bad frigging idea,of course.Could not re-enable Root-User! Grub seems to have fixed all else;however it left comment: 'no longer required fakeroot dkms patch' use 'apt-get autoremove' to remove these
So,that's where I'm at.Will have to look that up.Still too clueless,where Terminal is concerned-don't trust myself there yet.Thanks-Again; John.
