Ignore the comment previous comment. I edited the bug description to
reflect the latest status of the bug.

** Description changed:

When plugging in headphones, sound to laptop speakers does not turn off.
- Sound comes out of the headphones no problem. The volume does seem to
- go down a very small (almost undetectable) amount when the headphones
- are plugged in but that is it.
+ The volume does seem to go down a very small (almost undetectable)
+ amount when the headphones are plugged in but that is it. Additionally,
+ the sound inconsistently goes through the headphones sometimes and not
+ other times. I haven't yet been able to determine what causes to work
+ sometimes and not others.

- Other information: I had this same problem last week until an update
- went out that made it so that the sound didn't even come out of the
- headphones. Today I downloaded another update that fixed the sound
- coming out of the headphones but it still comes out of the laptop
- speakers as well. The only package I noticed being updated that I would
- think to be related is alsa-utils so maybe the bug is in that package?
-
- I also ran an alsa information script on my system. Maybe it will provide
additional details?
