I've installed 11.04 on a separate partition and with my 4965 card I seem to be
running just fine in N mode (by default, out-of-the-box). I installed a few
hundred megs of updates with no trouble other than a couple few second pauses
(but that may well be more due to the repos than my connection). I then opened
the latest ubuntu-beta torrent and had absolutely no drop-off in connection. My
router's status page indicates I'm using 802.11n. Hooray! So 4965 seems to not
be on the blocklist, and at least in my hardware setup is functioning normally.
I'm running:
linux-headers-2.6.38-8-generic 2.6.38-8.42 on x86
linux-firmware 1.52
Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 4965 AG or AGN [Kedron] Network Connection (rev
61) [lspci output]
