I think you didn't catch my bug report.
The icon which is wrong is the ubuntu ONE logo when you first run the
application in Unity the icon which shows up in the left uses the old logo
nothing to do with gnome.
you can check this in the screenshot attached,
that logo shows up when login in for the first time in ubuntu one
