** Description changed:

A while after you fixed my problem with the wifi, I had to go to sleep
for a while. I left my son using my computer. He created his own account
and then logged out of my account and used his for some time before
going to bed. I got up a couple of hours later, logged out of his
account, and logged in to mine. The wireless networks were not showing
in the menu when I clicked on the icon in the tool bar, so I could not
connect to them. Rebooting fixed the problem. I'll be happy to try to
help out if you feel like trying to track this down. Otherwise, thank
you again for the help earlier. I'll repost to this thread if this keeps
  happening.

  P. S. It happened again while I was writing this post. A reboot worked
  again.

  Thanks,

  Mark
