Thanks nmathew but these links are all about 0x183a (Sony Visual Communication Camera VGP-VCC7) which is a UVC camera and can use the new r5u87x driver.
I'm dealing with 0x1830 (Sony Visual Communication Camera VGP-VCC2) which is a WDM type and must use the older r5u870 driver.
