Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: casper
While booting Ubuntu 7.04 with a Gigabye GA-M55plus-S3G motherboard with
integrated NVIDIA GeForce 6100 graphics, the maximum resolution
available is 800x600. This wouldn't be a serious problem were it not for
the fact that the install wizard doesn't quite fit into 800x600
(Next/Cancel buttons are off of the bottom of the screen) without
deleting/hiding both of gnome's panels.
dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg and accepting the default driver 'nv'
along with a resolution of 1280x1024 and with or without frame buffer
causes the xserver to crash on restart of gdm.
Once feisty was installed, dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg with vesa
driver worked in higher resolutions.
** Affects: casper (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: Unconfirmed
