Also, I tried to fix the unbootable netbook problem with chroot :
root@ubuntu:~# mount -o bind /proc /mnt/linux/proc/
root@ubuntu:~# mount -o bind /dev /mnt/linux/dev/
root@ubuntu:~# chroot /mnt/linux/ /bin/bash
ubuntu:/# update-grub
Generating grub.cfg ...

I'll reboot to see if this worked.
