I'm running server 10.04LTS, and had no problems at all with suspend until last week. For 7 months I have been running pm-suspend-hybrid to put the machine to sleep, and using a wake-on-lan magic packet to wake it up again. I've never been able to use pm-hibernate, that always resumed immediately, but I did not investigate as pm-suspend-hybrid was just what I wanted to do.
Then last week pm-suspend-hybrid started immediately restarting. It took me a long time to notice that the odd occasions on which it worked were the first time after a boot. I've tried various other suggestions, such as blacklisting xhci_hcd in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf or adding SUSPEND_MODULES="ehci_hcd" to a new file in /etc/pm/config.d/ Neither was effective, however the script presented here, with the modified 'for' statments, seems to have restored normal behaviour of pm- suspend-hybrid ** Attachment added: "hardware listing of the affected server" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/289252/+attachment/2094161/+files/lshw.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/289252 Title: Immediate resume on suspend caused by ehci_hcd module -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
