I'm running server 10.04LTS, and had no problems at all with suspend
until last week. For 7 months I have been running pm-suspend-hybrid to
put the machine to sleep, and using a wake-on-lan magic packet to wake
it up again. I've never been able to use pm-hibernate, that always
resumed immediately, but I did not investigate as pm-suspend-hybrid was
just what I wanted to do.

Then last week pm-suspend-hybrid started immediately restarting. It
took me a long time to notice that the odd occasions on which it worked
were the first time after a boot. I've tried various other suggestions,
such as blacklisting xhci_hcd in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf or
adding SUSPEND_MODULES="ehci_hcd" to a new file in /etc/pm/config.d/
Neither was effective, however the script presented here, with the
modified 'for' statments, seems to have restored normal behaviour of pm-
suspend-hybrid
