How did you fix this problem. i am having the same issue. But I already removed transmission through the Ubuntu software center. I am not sure what the --purge option is. When I run "sudo apt-get remove transmission-gtk --purge" it says transmission will be removed but doesn't do anything. And when I run "sudo apt-get remove transmission- gtk" it tells me i cannot remove transmission because it is not installed. When I attempted to install transmission again i got the same error you reported above (in english though :P)
