Sorry for the delay. I was waiting for the final release of 11.04.
Problem still exists.

I have not installed Gnome 3. I am running 11.04 with Unity, but I must
login to Ubuntu Classic to avoid this problem.

"sudo lshw -c display" gives the following:

       description: VGA compatible controller
       product: C68 [GeForce 7050 PV / nForce 630a]
       vendor: nVidia Corporation

memory:dd000000-ddffffff memory:dffc0000-dffdffff

"ps aux | grep compiz" produces:
benshaw 19946 12.7 4.2 694096 166536 ? Sl 23:13 0:32 compiz
benshaw 20228 0.0 0.0 4220 580 ? Ss 23:13 0:00 /bin/sh -c
/usr/bin/compiz-decorator
benshaw 20858 0.0 0.0 13648 1020 pts/0 S+ 23:17 0:00 grep compiz

How Roman describes it is exactly how it affects me also.
