This sounds like bug 768836 for which a fix exists but is unfortunately
not in the release version of natty. To get this fix you have to install
a newer kernel:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:kernel-ppa/pre-proposed
The kernel should then appear in update-manager for installation.[1]

Let us know how it goes.
