I had the same issue with googletalk plugin on a 32 bit system. Caused a
crash.

I looked into the script and found that this lines caused the crash.

NSPLUGIN_DIRS=:/var/lib/flashplugin-installer
export NSPLUGIN_DIRS
nspluginwrapper -a -v -u

I simply removed the link in /usr/lib/firefox/plugin and recreated it
after the installation was done.
