It looks like I hit the same bug, but all the time. Probably something
in my system triggers the bug. When I switch to the nvidia driver, the
system stalls at boot, with the last statement by mountall, telling me
something about disabling plymouth.

System: Acer Aspire TimelineX 3830TG
Processor: Intel Core i5-2410M 2.3 GHz
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M
Linux distribution: Ubuntu 11.04 (clean install, no upgrade)
Linux kernel: 2.6.38-8-generic (amd64)
mountall-2.25ubuntu1

I haven't timed it, so I don't know if it continues after awhile. I left
it for a bit and then rebooted, but it was definitely more than 3
minutes. While the boot is stuck, it is still possible to login at Ctrl-
Alt-F1 and remove the xorg.conf file, which clears the problem. The file
was automatically generated by nvidia-xconfig.

Hope this helps and please tell me if there is anything else I can do to
help.
