Could you please replace xorg from xorg-edgers by the version from the
official archive before upgrade. network-manager-trunk, kubuntu PPAs may
also hold back essential package and prevent the upgrade.
You can install ppa-purge to help you in reinstalling official packages.
I'm closing this report because it is not a bug with Ubuntu.
