Public bug reported:
I've upgraded from Ubuntu 10.10 to natty 11.04, I just have Ubuntu OS. There
have been some issues since then but I've managed myself to resolve them, but
now the sound is not working (it did work but now it doesn't). I tried the
sound trouble shooting from Community Ubuntu Documentation and found out that I
was in "the audio sound group". Made the corrections using System -->
Administration -->Users and Groups --> Advanced Settings, but there still no
sound. I tried in the terminal with aplay
/usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Central.wav and no sound emited, did the same with
the Left and Right and nothing at all.
I'm using:
rosannys@tatyk:~$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 11.04
Release: 11.04
The alsa-base version is:
rosannys@tatyk:~$ apt-cache policy alsa-base
alsa-base:
Installed: 1.0.24+dfsg-0ubuntu1
Candidate: 1.0.24+dfsg-0ubuntu1
Version table:
*** 1.0.24+dfsg-0ubuntu1 0
500 http://ve.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ natty/main amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
Ah! By the way, I'm using Ubuntu Classic because when upgraded the desktop in
Ubuntu didn't work, I mean there where no dash, no top bar and after looking to
solve that problem and found no good solution, decided to go to Classic.
Please if anyone can help!! Thanks
