I think Talika is the problem. I had Maverick on my laptop and in a Virtualbox VM on an XP host. I had Talika on the laptop, but DockBarX on the VM. Updated both to Natty. The VM went smooth, but I had no panels on the laptop and the mouse cursor constantly went back and forth between the arrow cursor and the circular "hourglass" cursor. It wasn't until I reset the gnome panel settings via terminal before everything finally went back to normal. (I referenced this site: http://www.watchingthenet.com/restore-panels-in-ubuntu-back-to-their- default-settings.html ). After I got my panels back, I tried to reinstall Talika since the Webupd8 PPA updated Talika for Natty. It seemed to install fine, but it won't show up in the available list of applets when I try to add it to the panel. Something is definitely up with Talika and 11.04, but I haven't had time to explore a solution.
