Till: you are absolutely correct,  And yes, I think this is a bug with
Unity.  Thanks for the clues.  I actually discovered this behaviour
while doing screen shots of everything to help explain what I was
complaining about.

This is entirely counter-intuitive.  It wasn't until I read something in
your response that I actually maximized the printer config window and
realized that the menus where there...

And then I read your later comment and that explains the rest.

Unfortunately, this is entirely counter-intuitive to anyone who hasn't
used Mac OSX.  I've never used OSX beyond one time in a 1 day class
about 8 years ago when OSX first came out.  That's the last time I
touched a mac other than some very simple and quick playing with them in
a Mac store...

So thanks for pointing this in the right direction.

The sad thing is that I've been using Linux since the mid-90s and
computers since the mid-80s and even I can't figure out where many
things in Unity are...  maybe it's just me, perhaps...
