just for the record
i had the same happening here.
The only reason i did not file a bug was i thought it is a feature.
(fsck during 1st boot just to be sure)
side note
happens with debian etch also
i am in cest (utc+2)
i install (with alternate CD) choosing german setting at begining and
during 1st boot the fs gets checked.
