I see. The newest kernel on your system is now the the 2.6.39 that I
told you to install for testing whether it was fixed. In order to boot
Kamal's patched kernel you indeed have to select "Previous Linux
versions". This will bring you to a different grub screen where you now
should have the standard Ubuntu 11.04 kernel (which is a 2.6.38
generation kernel) and the patched kernel (which is also 2.6.38
generation). The patched kernel is newer so it should have a higher
number at the end and it should also be higher up the list (I think it
should be the first on that page since the 2.6.39 should not be listed
there).

Check the kernel version with uname -a and let me know if it works now.

And yes, you are not the only one. e.g. an Acer Aspire in bug 773471.
The patched kernel fixed it for that system.
