Turns out the bug for me is in the rackspace lucid image.  The moment
one is installed, /var/mail is owned by man.  Postfix is at that point
not even installed yet, so I will mark this bug as 'invalid' for
postfix.  I'm going to try an install from cd image, and if that
reproduces it I"ll mark this affecting ubiquity.  If not, then it
appears to simply be a bug in Dell's and Rackspace's images.  I don't
know how those were generated, or how we file those.
