Hi Bryce, some more information.
when launching dolphin or gwenview from a xterm in fluxbox, both of them generate th freeze. Here are last message displayed in xterm: Application crashed: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply object::connect: No such signal QDBusAbstractInterface::DeviceAdded(QString) object::connect: No such signal QDBusAbstractInterface::DeviceRemoved(QString) next event on keyboard or mouse click provokes the freeze.
