I just checked this on my current natty system and the icon seems to be there:
$ dpkg -L app-install-data|grep hedge
/usr/share/app-install/icons/hedgewars.png
/usr/share/app-install/desktop/hedgewars.desktop
I close this report, please reopen if I miss something here.
