Public bug reported:

My USB speakers worked fine with Maverick and Natty so far. Yesterday, I
tried a suspend to RAM, and my speakers to not play any sound since
then.

So far I have checked all the volume settings in the notification area,
the Sounds menu, pavucontrol and alsamixer. I then followed the
"Debugging Sound Problems" wiki page and created a sound.conf which
looks like this:

alias snd-card-0 snd-usb-audio
alias snd-card-1 snd-hda-intel

options snd-usb-audio index=0
options snd-hda-intel index=1

The USB cards is now in slot 0, but this did not change anything. The
card was in slot 1 all the time before and it worked.
