bug. :-( Anyway, If you run 11.04 you should be able to fix your problem
by adding the following line to /lib/udev/rules.d/90-pulseaudio.rules
(next to the other similar ones):
SUBSYSTEMS=="usb", ATTRS{idVendor}=="041e", ATTRS{idProduct}=="0403",
ENV{PULSE_PROFILE_SET}="usb-headset.conf"
