Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.20-15-generic

Yesterday I upgrade from Edgy to Feisty with Alternate CD, downloading newer
and additional packages from the internet during the upgrade process.
At the reboot, I try to boot with kernel 2.6.20-15.27 : boot fails and system
immediately reboot. Editing grub options removing "quiet splash", I can read
that boot process hangs on ACPI and system reboots.
So I try to boot with option "acpi=off". System starts, but sound doesn't work.
Boot process creates new /dev/sdaX devices.
Old Edgy's kernel works perfectly (2.6.17.1-11.37) and creates old /dev/hdaX
devices.
My system is a laptop Asus M3410c with a Intel 855gm chipset.
