I have been tinkering with this for awhile now; you asked for dmesg and syslog, but I could never see any additional messages EITHER place no matter what I did to the debug file. It turns out all the additional messages are going to kern.log. So I will grab some or all of the kern.log along with the syslog so you can look at the time stamps or whatever. ALSO for whatever reason the wireless has never completely failed this evening -- it waits a minute or two, does its direct probe a couple of times and then comes up.
