This "bug" has more to do with Ubuntu protocol and leadership than Unity
itself.

A large chunk of the Ubuntu community have had their opinions ignored
and made invalid to the point where they no longer feel welcome or
accepted into the community as a whole.

What is worse, this entire issue has been caused by a childish
overreaction to Unity being rejected by the Gnome team.

That sad part about this is both Unity & Gnome's new shell are
disappointing products at this stage, neither are yet fit to hold such
an important place in an operating system.

There is a very real danger of a fracture of the community over
something this silly..

It's better we voice our opinions now rather than in 6 months time, when
gnome panel is abandoned for good.
