related. There are also kernel bug reports like
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14660 where they try to fix
the new ALPS driver so that the device is recognized as a touchpad
instead of a generic PS/2 mouse.

Since this device is in so many new laptops, including machines listed
as Ubuntu certified hardware (like my Dell E5420) I really hope
Canonical could prioritize working with ALPS to get this driver to work
as a proper touchpad device.
