i have the same problem as described earlier, crashes as soon as wi-fi connects to hotspot, i have used ubuntu from about 9.04, always had to install restricted drivers but worked fine till 11.04, in saying that i am still new to any kind of advanced tinkering, but if i can do anything to help others in a similar situation... thanks
