I don't have any interest in debugging it. I only opened the bug after seeing people complaining on the forums with the same issue. Normally, I'd say if you're going to force a dependency on gaim and not on network-manager you should resolve that with another package or fix the bug. This release is so buggy I doubt anyone will notice gaim locking up anyway.
