Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: bcm43xx-fwcutter

I installed Feisty (7.04) on an HP nx6125 laptop (AMD Turion64).
Initially the wireless did not work at all. I then used synaptic package
manager to install "bcm43xx-fwcutter" . The fwcutter installation was
very easy (it fetched the firmware driver without error). After the
install, I can now see networks within range (in "roam" mode, signal
strength and all). I cannot, however, actually connect to any of the
networks (WEP protected or not). I always end up with "No network
connection".

** Affects: bcm43xx-fwcutter (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
