Public bug reported:
system has windows installed on ich10r/ sata 1&2 in raid0. Ubuntu 11.04
attempted install on drive 3, a 150gb raptor. After install the system
could no longer post with the raptor installed. When the system would
check out the sata port it would freeze. I took the raptor out, put it
into another system as a single drive in ahci mode and it booted ubuntu
up just fine. I put a known good drive into the main system and it
posted just fine. To completely verify the problem was with the Ubuntu
install, I took the raptor with Ubuntu 11 on it, put it into the main
box again, and the system again refused to POST. I then took the raptor
drive, put it back into the other system, used gparted to remove the
partition table entirely and blank the drive, returned it to the main
system and voila, no more POST issues.
