Thanks for the hint, Wladimir. I confirm that after blackisting acer_wmi (additionally to the still blacklisted brcm80211) the Fn+F3 key combination to turn the wireless module on and off works. I have not done any further detailed testing, the laptop seems to be working as expected.
I have googled for acer wmi and found instructions [0] to provide a DSDT dump which I did. I attach the DSDT dump to this ticket as well, in case it can be of help. Have a good weekend.
