Unity ******* sucks. Why not just go to LXDE or Lubuntu with the panel
on the left and autohide? It would give me so much more. What idiocy
is this to go to a pile of soft-edged icons that I can't even center
vertically or resize obviously? And you could have given me a hint of a
tutorial on new un-expected scroll bar behavior etc. How priggishly
disrespectful of all the loyal Ubuntu users can you be? Really want to
swap us for some new crop of Microsoft Bob Paperclip Lovers? Whatever.
And I'm someone who *likes* LXDE with an auto-hide left-side panel! I'd
rather use startx with an xterm to launch and control my apps than this.
And I *care* about screen real estate. Oh, and it helps that on things
like a VNC connected VMWare machine, it *can't even run unity* with no
3D card, so I'm left with different interfaces for different Natty
machines. "Natty"? Yes, smart dress and appearance covering up
arrogant unilateralism and anti-community-building thoughtlessness.
Foot. Shot. Good aim if that is what you wanted. I mean, look, 95% of
users are going to do what I do, right-click on the pop-up dock thing to
get a menu to configure it. I mean, it really is like the dancing
paperclip.
