I misunderstood the "undecided"/"unassigned part". Sorry if my comment made the impression of being disrespectful. I didn't mean to threaten to switch to another distro, what I meant is that this is exactly the kind of issue that drives people away to other places (and some new users might think it's "normal" for "Linux").
The oneirc comment was just that I'd be prepared to try the newer compiz package there and report if it helps, reinstalling back is no problem anyway.
