Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: thunderbird

Thunderbird often doesn't target the correct mouse pointer position. You've to
direct the mouse pointer some pixel more up to catch e.g. one button in the
main tool bar or scroll through a mail in preview mode.
Trying to reset the window by restoring and maximizing the main window title
bar, menu bar and the window itself running completly out of your control.

Only possibility ALT+A4 and restarting thunderbird to work with it.
