Same problem here, bug does indeed occur less often than before but it still happens. Running natty fully updated and with Ubuntu Classic Desktop. Also, I've noticed that at least in my case, the dead zone appears to mask the desktop, as middle-clicking it triggers the rotate desktop cube effect. Disabling the plugin had no effect.
