Binary package hint: synaptic
i recently updated to 10.08 from 10.10, The update manager worked well
till it was almost all done, it stuck on flash plugin and after waiting
for couple of minutes when i saw no activity i rebooted the system, the
upgrade was successful. System worked smoothly for couple of days then
my next venture was to further upgrade the system to 11.04 but update
manager started giving error message
Could not initialize the package information
An unresolvable problem occurred while initializing the package
information.
Please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include
the following error message:
'E:Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be
caused by held packages.'
now the synaptic also started giving messages about broken packages and
when i try to fix it i get the following message
E: Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by
held packages.
E: Unable to correct dependencies
i am really stuck with it, can some one help me to solve this problem,
(janitor is also stopped working since)
