With my last feisty fawn, I tried to burn my iso image in tty1 and root user but without more success. Here is my result :
growisofs -Z /dev/scd0=image.iso Executing 'builtin_dd if=image.iso of=/dev/scd0 obs=32k seek=0' /dev/scd0: "Current Write Speed" is 2.5x1352KBps. :-[ [EMAIL PROTECTED] failed with SK=5h/ASC=27h/ACQ=00h]: Input/output error :-( write failed: Input/output error For info but I think everything is OK (am I wrong ?) : brw-rw---- 1 root cdrom 11, 0 2007-04-21 23:20 /dev/scd0 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 2007-04-21 23:21 /dev/cdrom -> scd0 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 2007-04-21 23:21 /dev/cdrw -> scd0 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 2007-04-21 23:21 /dev/dvd -> scd0 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 2007-04-21 23:21 /dev/dvdrw -> scd0 crw-rw---- 1 root root 21, 0 2007-04-21 23:20 /dev/sg0 [my IDE disk] crw-rw---- 1 root cdrom 21, 1 2007-04-21 23:20 /dev/sg1 [my CD/DVD] I am surprised this important bug has not been treated yet. Moreover, I think this bug should be attached to the distribution and not k3b : it's a more general problem - perhaps kernel, perhaps user rights, perhaps dvdrtools ... (for info, burn of CDs and DVDRW are OK for me !). MEN OF UBUNTU : * please comment this bug, * change its affectation - k3b to ..., * Change its status : could you reproduce this bug, do you need more info, Is it in progress or is this bug rejected ? Do you have a temporarily work-around ? ...
