  Binary package hint: plymouth
  
  I have this  issue of plymouth starting in fallback text mode everytime. 
However, when i log out, i am able to see the graphics. 
  i have tried updating the initram using sudo update-initramfs -c -k all but 
it did not help.
  I think this is a bug.
