I have been doing some further testing in this issue and I came to the conclusion that this isn't a LiveCD issue -- the exact same graphics corruption happens in all the listed versions of Ubuntu if, when installed, I disable the proprietary NVidia graphics driver but keep the native monitor resolution. In all cases, switching to a lower resolution removes the graphical issue. The difference between earlier Live CDs (such as Gutsy, Hardy and Intrepid, all of which I recall testing) and the ones I listed as having tested (Karmic and on) is that the earlier CDs used 1024x768 resolution, while the newer tries to use the native 1280x800 of my monitor.
By the way, I don't have a Jaunty live CD to test, which is why it isn't listed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/780001 Title: LiveCD graphical issues on native monitor resolution -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
