Hi all

The problem seems fixed, booted several times and worked normally with no
problems.
The patched version didn't do it, i kept on fiddling... perhaps it's the
updates from natty-proposed or a line I changed in grub.cfg...

Steps that made it work for me :
 1 - clean install of natty from dvd
      (the error messages are still there)
 2 - grub.cfg: commented l. 92 :
       # if [ "$linux_gfx_mode" != "text" ]; then load_video; fi
3 - synaptics updates
4 - get some sleep
5 - synaptics natty-proposed updates
6 - it works!

I don't know exactly which step(s) did it, but i'm guessing someone did
fix something in a package i updated, in which case thanks!
